STEP #1:
Decide what percentage you are going to pay your affiliates and then setup your commission plan!
You first need to decide what percentage of each sale you want to offer your affiliates. The more you are able to pay them, the more likely you will be able to recruit good affiliates.
Oftentimes for digital products, people pay their affiliates anywhere from 35% up to 75% OR MORE of each sale!
Sometimes with physical products, where there is a higher cost of fulfillment, commissions are often lower, sometimes 5% up to 30%.
How you structure your commission plan is entirely up to you.
Here is how you set it up:
Step #1:
Create A “Commission Plan"
Backpack makes it EASY to set whatever commission structure you want! In just a few clicks, your commission settings will be set, and ready for your affiliates to start promoting!
Inside your Affiliate Management area, simply select the “Commission Plans” tab.
Then click on the “Add Commission Plan” button.
Click on the "Add Commision Plan" to create a new "Commision Plan"
Step #2:
Customize Your "Commision Plan"
Give your new commission plan a NAME (so you can easily locate it from your list if you have multiple plans), and then click the “Create Commission Plan” button.
You can create as many new plans as you like (especially if you have multiple products, or want to run different Affiliate specials or contests). If you create more than one commission plan, set whichever ones you want to run as ACTIVE.
You can easily switch back and forth between commission plans as needed, depending on what specials, launch events, or promotions you want to run.
Customize your Commision Plan, and add as many new plan as you like.
Step #3:
Add Affiliate types
Inside Backpack, you have the flexibility to add in many different TYPES of affiliates:
• Regular affiliates

Add commission for each affiliate type
It is EASY to set up customized commission plans for your different affiliate types, such as friends or joint venture partners!
For each new affiliate type that you create, simply enter in the designated commission amount that you want to pay out.
There’s no crazy math that you need to do. No formulas or algorithms that you need to figure out for affiliate commissions.
Once your commission settings are saved for each affiliate type, Backpack tracks and handles ALL the math for the different commission levels, so you will never have to break out a calculator!
Set up commission either as a Fixed amount or as percentage.
Step #5:
Create a two-tier affiliate program
How would you like your affiliates to recruit other people to promote your products?

Tier #1 Let’s say your affiliate brings you a new customer, and you pay them 30% sales commission.
